Johannesburg Pride Parade and Festival

Johannesburg Pride is an open invitation for all to come and take a stride for Pride. Every year, thousands gather as we march through the streets of JHB in a stand for self-acceptance and legal rights, but also in celebration of our pride. The parade is open to everyone who wants to attend, and is free of charge.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, 26 October. Gates open at 11:00.

The Pride village will be set up on Rivonia Road, between Sandton Drive and West Str, Sandton. Secure parking will be available at Sandton City Shopping Centre.

The march will leave from the assembly point at 14:00 en-route through the Sandton CBD.

A variety of food and beverages will be available for purchase in the Pride Village. We are further pleased to announce that cashless payment solutions will be available at all stalls. As always, cash is still perfectly acceptable. The sale of alcoholic beverages will strictly be for persons over the age of 18.

Arrangements have been made for medical services to provide first aid services at the Sandton Pride Village and during the parade. There will also be a qualified medical doctor on standby at the Sandton Pride Village during the festival.

A private security company will assist with the security at the event. In addition, approximately 500 volunteers from the community will act as Marshalls during the procession. The Marshalls will assist with control of the participants in the parade. The assistance of the Johannesburg Metro Police Department and the South African Police Service will also be available to control and regulate the traffic as the parade progresses through the streets of Sandton.
